Media Release - Public can now view prosecution outcomes arising from Commission investigations

Wednesday, 21 May 2025

The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission has unveiled a new feature on its website today providing the public with information on the outcomes of prosecutions from Commission investigations.

The public can use the Prosecution Outcomes Arising from LECC Investigations PowerBI report to view the details and outcome of charges, the rank of the individuals charged with an offence and their plea.

The Commission’s prosecution outcomes report shows that there have been 78 charges arising from Commission investigations to date.  Of those:

  • 67 were proven
  • 6 were not proven and
  • 5 have been withdrawn.

Of the 67 proven offences:

  • 66 resulted in a conviction and
  • 1 did not result in a conviction.

In 80% of matters the offender plead guilty to the offences with which they were charged (63 of 78 offences).

The Commission’s prosecution outcomes report provides point-in-time information about the outcome of prosecutions arising from LECC investigations, which are documented in either public or private LECC investigation reports.

The Commission does not have the power to prosecute individuals. We obtain the advice of the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions or when appropriate, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, with respect to the prosecution of any person. The decision to prosecute lies with these agencies.

The Prosecution Outcomes Arising from LECC Investigations PowerBI report is available via the Data Hub on the Commission’s website here.
