The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (the Commission) is conducting an investigation, which has included the execution of three search warrants on senior police officers on the evening of Wednesday 21 January 2026.  As a result, a number of electronic devices were seized. Commission powers were also exercised to seize devices from a fourth officer.

On 14 December 2025, a critical incident was declared by the NSW Police Force as a result of the terrorist attack at Bondi Beach. The Commission is independently monitoring the police investigation of the critical incident under Part 8 of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission Act 2016 to ensure public confidence in that investigation.
