The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission Responds

The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission is aware of recent media reports relating to a motor vehicle accident in the NorthConnex Tunnel, which has resulted in a senior serving NSW Police Force officer being charged with high range drink driving.

The Commission has been actively monitoring the police investigation of this matter.

The Commission’s monitoring function allows the Commission’s staff to access the police investigation documents and involves regular contact with police undertaking that investigation.

The Commission is also conducting its own independent investigation of all aspects of this matter. That investigation is ongoing.

The Commission intends to furnish a public report to Parliament in due course.

The Commission will not comment further at this stage.
