Case Studies

As a result of its oversight of misconduct investigations, the LECC may prepare reports, including: 

Section 27 report

The LECC may prepare a report relating to the education and prevention of officer misconduct.  This report may include relevant comments or recommendations and is to be provided to the Minister and the Commissioner of Police or Crime Commissioner (as relevant). 

Section 134 report

In addition to, or instead of, a request for a further investigation or request for a review of a decision on a misconduct investigation, the LECC may prepare a report on the matter.  This report may include relevant comments or recommendations and is to be provided to the complainant, the Minister and the Commissioner of Police or Crime Commissioner (as relevant). 

Section 138 report

The LECC may make a special report to Parliament on any matter arising from the exercise of its functions.  Unless a report has been tabled in Parliament only a case summary of the report will appear on the LECC Website.
